Creating Your Own Reality

Have you ever noticed that whatever you think about usually ends up happening?

For example if you start thinking and dreaming about a new car, bicycle, television or whatever. And you keep thinking about it over and over… Eventually you manage a way to get it.

This works for every other part of your life too. Sometimes it just takes longer.

I used to always think about how stupid and annoying my boss was. And sure enough he would get stupider and more annoying everyday.

Even if you feel that your boss is stupid and annoying, these thoughts are making it worse. So you have to find a way to not only stop it but to replace it with something that’s making you grow and become better.

What can you learn about your boss being annoying/stupid? There’s a lesson to be learned in every life situation, good or bad.

You have to “take out the trash” up there… In your head. What does that mean?

Start paying more attention to your surroundings and your thoughts. Here’s one thing I found about myself…

Watching TV is like downloading other people’s opinions and it makes me more worried about what people think. Now I watch two to three movies a week and that’s it–no TV shows. I don’t miss it and my mind is healthier which helps me do everything else (which matters more) better.

So let’s get back to the beginning… How do we create our own reality?

First define your dreams. Think about them all the time and more importantly start doing little things every single day that will help you achieve your wildest dreams.

If you manage to do this you’ll be ecstatic everyday because you know that you’re on the way to success. And if you’re doing the little things that add up to your dreams later, you’re already successful.

Do what you enjoy and enjoy doing it. The journey is the reward. If you can find enjoyment and fulfillment in that the rest will fall right into place in time.

Constantly be on the lookout for ways to appreciate everything that you have in your life right now.

I think it’s a beautiful, and refreshing, take on creative expression.

Advertisers encourage us to “express ourselves” through the things we buy. They tell us that by “styling” our lives — with sleek cars, designer dresses, or modernist housewares — we can show our creativity. (Of course, we all know this is just a clever marketing scam.)

More appropriately, we can express our creative genius through the things we make. We can draw, paint, sculpt, knit, make pottery, compose music, or cook fabulous gourmet meals.
