Tiny Old Shed House

tiny-old-shed-house

Looks like a pretty old shed built on the side of an existing structure. Notice the old stove by the door, too.

Moss is growing on the roof and it looks like the picture was taken in the fall.

Photography by Marc Kozak.

Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier.  The way it actually works is the reverse.  You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.

Cave Dwelling #2

Stairs in stony cave house

Today I have another cave dwelling in addition to the original post.

Stairs and an entrance to a cave dwelling in an unknown ruin cave town. Unfortunately I don’t have much more information. What do you think?

Photography by Tatiana Popova.

Today I’m going to focus on a few happiness quotes

Indeed, man wishes to be happy even when he so lives as to make happiness impossible.
~St. Augustine

Can anything be so elegant as to have few wants, and to serve them one’s self?
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

There are two things to aim at in life:  first, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it.  Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second.
~Logan Pearsall Smith

Tiny Wooden House by Waterfalls

House by the waterfall

This is such a beautiful picture. A tiny wooden house surrounded by nature. I’m sure you can hear the water flowing all the time. There’s even grass growing on the roof it looks like.

This picture was taken by Deborah Benbrook at the Skaftafell National Park in Iceland.

I enjoyed this quote by Anthony de Mello…

You’ve got to drop something. You’ve got to drop illusions. You don’t have to add anything in order to be happy; you’ve got to drop something. Life is easy, life is delightful. It’s only hard on your illusions, your ambitions, your greed, your cravings.

He explains how happiness is already within you. It’s really just a matter of analyzing the things that are making you unhappy… All of the things in your world that make you continue to want more.

Think twice about what you watch on the television everyday, how many times you read the news and pay attention to your self that’s always stressing you out. Shut that self down sometimes and enjoy what you already have.

Enjoy…

  • Nature around you
  • Your home
  • Family and friends
  • Husband or wife
  • Children
  • Music
  • Pictures
  • A bicycle ride
  • A walk

It’s all about appreciation. See you tomorrow!
